Bound - Chapter 1 - Beauty And The Beast

Kanada sat quietly in the golden field; listening to the swishing of grain and the feel of gentle wind blowing against him. His hands tenderly slid down the black and white Collie's back as he read a book. For a moment, the teen placed the book down on the ground and wrapped his arms around the fleecy neck fur of the Collie. "We should probably start heading back now, Shep."  The snow-haired teen commented. Shep panted lightly before turning his head to whine and lap at the air with a pink tongue. "It's getting dark; the wolves will start coming out soon." Kanada pointed out. Lately, the wolves were getting more and more courageous of entering human territory; which meant more loss of cattle. Even in some cases, humans were killed as well. "We have to round up the sheep anyways." Kanada sighed. His head spun around at the sudden desperate bleat of a sheep in pain. "Oh no!" There that stood before him were a pack of wolves. Shep growled angrily until snapping his jaws; flashing yellow canines in a attempt to scare the wolves off. But they simply stood their ground, tail held high in dominance and the occasional snap of jaws; ears flattening to their heads. The Collie barked ravenously before charging towards the wolves. "Shep, no!"

The Collie yelped in pain and surprise as a dark brown wolf bit into his neck and pinned the dog to the ground, tightening its grip around his neck every second. "Please, don't!" Kanada screamed before running towards them. Before the beasts could react, he quickly slipped his hands into the wolves mouth and parted them before shoving him away. Immediately, Kanada wrapped his arms protectively around Shep and held him close. "I won't let you hurt him anymore!" A grey-haired wolf snarled angrily and advanced towards him, teeth barring. The white-haired teen clung tightly to Shep before looking down at him with teary eyes. "You gotta run…" His voice trailed off. The Collie pricked his ears in surprise before whining and not moving. The black and white creature staggered to his paws before growling back at the grey wolf; brown and blue eyes flashing. Eventually, the grey wolf launched an attack on the Collie, but quickly; as if a black flash of light, intervened and grasped the grey wolf by the scruff of his neck and held him tightly in his jaws.

Kanada gazed up in awe at the black wolf. They were said to be very rare and were considered to be the 'God of Death' in his wolf form. The ebony creature stared at the white-haired teen for a moment, as if deciding whether he was a threat or not. The beast gazed at Kanada for a few heart beats before snarling and snapping at the pack, as if he were telling them something. Shep's ears suddenly pricked and he turned towards Kanada, eyes wide. Suddenly, the black wolf padded towards Kanada before suddenly transforming into a human being. No, not entirely; only slightly. He still had his black ears and tail, but the rest of his figure had changed. The wolves stared at the partial human part animal creature for a moment until shifting as well. The ivory-haired teen's eyes grew round with shock and disbelief. "W-What in the world…?" Kanada questioned, crimson eyes flashing with confusion. "What are you?" He questioned. For a few minutes; the ones black wolf was quiet. He seemed to be sizing Kanada up with his intense amber gaze. "Shape shifters." The black haired male stated.

"Shape shifters? Aren't those just made up?" Kanada questioned, backing away. Though, every step he took backwards, the black-haired man simply took a few steps closer until he stood face to face with Kanada. "E-Er…" The snow-haired teen trailed off. The beast-in-human-form twitched a black ear before his eyes grew soft. "Kanada…" He breathed. The shape shifter's eyes widened. "You can't be serious! There's no way this puny human could be Kanada!" Kanada stepped back a few paces, eyes round with curiosity and fear. "I-I am Kanada. Kanada Tsubasa Hane…" The followers of the black wolf flattened their ears, eyes narrowing in anger and hatred. "Just because she resembles our goddess doesn't mean she's actually Kanada! There's no way she could be Kanada, Kiba!" 'She?' The white-haired boy blinked his crimson eyes before scratching his head. "Um, excuse me…" He began. The grey-haired follower snarled. "What?" Kanada flinched. "U-Um, i'm a guy."

"You're male? But you smell like a girl and look like one too!" The followers stated in a surprised tone. Kanada chuckled awkwardly. "That should be a crime! Fooling us like that!" A blonde male yelped. "He must be our goddess then." A blue-grey-haired man breathed. "There's no way! It's a guy!" The grey-haired male objected. "Enough, Hairo!" Kiba snarled, amber eyes flashing. "Or do I need to put you in your place?" Hairo flinched before flattening his ears and tucking his tail between his legs. Kiba snorted before looking at Kanada again. "Don't you see? He is Kanada. I know it because only once every ten thousand years is there a white-haired person with red eyes. Red as blood." The beast narrowed his eyes before walking towards Kanada once again. This time, Shep leaped in front of Kanada and snarled before shifting as well; which came as a big surprise to Kanada. "Don't you dare take another step forward, Kiba!" Shep snarled. Kanada's eyes widened for a moment before he sighed. "I give up! What's next; a flying pig?" He murmured to himself before looking cautiously up at the sky, scanning the area. "Don't be silly! Pigs can't fly!" Hairo snapped, growling quietly. "How am I supposed to know? You guys are shape shifters! How do I know if there's no such thing as a flying pig?" Kiba looked at Kanada before walking towards Kanada ones again, ignoring Shep. The Collie stood in his way once again. "I said not to take another step towards him!" Shep was a black and white collie with tri-colored eyes; one blue and one yellow.   "I won't let you touch him!" Shep snapped. Kiba simply stared at him before shoving hi aside. "Shep!" Kanada yelped; running towards him, though, Kiba quickly grabbed him by his kimono's collar and pulled him towards him. "Kanada…" He frowned. The white-haired teen blinked before pushing him away. "Shep!" His black ears flattened to his head and his amber eyes narrowed angrily. "You will be mine, Kanada!" He snarled before shifting into his wolf form once again and tackling him to the ground before grasping him by the collar between his jaws and shaking him violently. "L-Let me go!" Kanada stuttered, writhing. "K-Kiba…I don't think that's the way to go about this…" A silver wolf whispered. "Kiba, stop! You'll kill him!" Hairo called. The black wolf released Kanada before growling. "You will stay with me 'till the day you die!" The wolf snarled, fangs barring angrily. Kanada's eyes widened as he looked up at Kiba. "I bind thee!" Suddenly, a red light flashed and a red collar appeared around the white-haired male's neck. A sudden shock of pain slithered through his cream skin and he writhed in pain. "Kiba, no!" The blonde-haired male shouted.
